New Month with a different outlook

Now that the Jester party is over, I can renew my creative talents on canvas. I will attempt to create at least 5 new works by the end of December. With all the uncertain news about my day job at ATA, I have to keep an open mind as to what to do in the future if things change.
So I will start work this week on a new landscape and think hard about the grant I applied for and possible new Web site for my work.
I will let you know next week, if I am still talking to myself.

Dead Jester Party Photos

It was All Hallows Eve and ghosts, goblins, vampires and devilish thingamaboobs were abound.
While the party was not full of quanity it was full of quality.
Probably the last time we hold a party, as it was too expensive with too many no shows due to sickness, other parties, etc. So if you missed it you missed a good one never to be repeated.
So now some photos of the Dead Jester Party, May it Rest in Peace.

The Dead Jester Party

It's been a month since my last post. You know vacation, normal living, lack of interest in the computer. Needless to say, on All Hallows Eve I am holding my 1st Dead Jester's Party.
Lots to do to get the party ready. Will post photos of all the wild costumes.
So Be There or Be Scared!

Life in the Fast Lane

Soooo. Fast,
It seems that time is passing each day will little being done, doing what I am supposed to do. Such as create. I do get inspiration almost every day, but until I can do this 24/7 it seems that life is passing by. What with trying to make a buck, pay bills, feed the dogs, make love and life's other adventures.
So now you know how the rest of the world feels in general, except for the lucky few. Sooo if you feel like Life in the Fast Lane.... SLOW DOWN!

Searching for Joan

Well I was going through some old photos from bygone trips and found some postcards from an old friend, Joan Matey. I have always wondered what had happened to her, if she got lost in California, joined the peace artist corps or came back to Florida. I did a search on the internet and I believe I have found her. Do miracles still happen.
I still remember her bronzes she did of herself, which inspired me to do some of my own work.
Our trip together across the USA in the 70's changed my life for the better and I will always remember her for that.
I hope we can at some point get together again and talk old times and share thoughts that artists do.

Studio Daze

well, have been working on getting the studio finished and just about done. Finished an older work (painting) that I started beginning of the year. Its a view from our villa when we were in Italy. Started on painting one of the new nudes, but not sure if I still want to go in that direction. Thinking on more landscapes, but is that where I want to go. Must work on a standard approch and a standard style as to my always getting sidetracked.
So as you can see the thought process is beginning to wain a bit.
More later....

It's a Beautiful Day

Gee it's Thursday which is my Friday and last night I also completed the studio space. Still lots more to do. Why is it that the human race seems to have just crawled out of the stone-age? Did we really evolve from dolphins? I don't think so, as they are a more intelligent species. Can you tell I'm pissed?
So more on this tomorrow when I've calmed down a bit.

Seeing Me

This weekend, I worked on my studio, getting it prepared to work on some larger paintings. Making sure the lighing was correct and all materials were present, without having to run around looking for missing items. This was almost accomplished. I always seem to miss some small can of color or brush, thereby having to dig through bins and bins of material.
Must remember to tone down the free spirit of me.

Just another day

So now it's just another day. What can we do but dream and wish the Art grant will come thru.
The Arts council web site is always down and I need the grant money for more paint and canvas.
I have yet to get my photo lab put together, let alone finish the studio.
Well tomorrow is another day.

Welcome to The Starving Artist

Somewhere between birth and now, I decided to become an artist. Hopefully of some renown, but only time will tell.
I have starved and I have learned to starve, yet I strive to create.
It all started back in the 60's. I was searching for life and I realized that I saw things a little different from others.
  1. I was looking at shadows more often.
  2. I would paint almost anything my mother would let me.
  3. I would have vivid dreams.

So this is how it started. I look back now 40 years later and wonder if I see the shadows any differently.
